In today’s world, we’re often encouraged to chase productivity through the lens of constant hustle and grind culture. But Islam offers a different, more holistic path — one that centres intention, balance, and barakah.
This interactive session will explore the foundations of Islamic productivity, drawing on Qur’anic guidance, prophetic traditions, and practical tools for daily life. Together, we’ll reflect on:
- The contrast between grind culture and Islamic principles of productivity
- Core foundations such as tawakkul (trust in Allah), niyyah (intention), and time as an amanah (trust), grounded in Surah Al-Asr and the “tie your camel” hadith
- Prophetic habits for productive living, from rising early to building routines around prayer
- The importance of balance, rest, and honouring our bodies and minds
- Tools and practices to cultivate barakah, including calendar blocking, digital detox apps, salah, adhkar, du’a, and a reflective “barakah journal”
The session will be interactive, with space to share your own productivity hacks, reflect on what good rest means to you, and identify a personal goal to carry forward.

Haleema Akhtar will be facilitating this session. Haleema is passionate about productivity, finds peace and inspiration in nature, and leads an organisation dedicated to helping Muslim women deepen their connection with God. She wants to see a world in which Muslim women are living God centred lives.
