Thursday 16 July • 10 AM – 4 PM
Overview
Join us in person to explore how empathy, stories, and culture shape cancer experiences and care.
How do faith, family, culture, and community shape cancer experiences?
We are inviting you to a Health Symposium sharing findings from the Empathy, Narrative and Cultural Values (ENCV) project, led by the University of Birmingham and the University of Exeter, in collaboration with Green Lane Masjid. This co-creative project brings together Cancer Champions, patients, caregivers, and researchers using an empathy-led approach to explore the relational, spiritual, and cultural dimensions of cancer care within the Muslim community.
At this symposium, we will share key findings from the project, introduce practical tools, and open up discussion on how trusted community partnerships can strengthen more compassionate and culturally responsive cancer services—locally and beyond. We welcome attendees from community members, healthcare professionals, researchers, and organisations working in cancer care and support.
